Tik Tok challenges: girl wearing big star sunglasses

These 10 TikTok challenges offer a fun way to liven up your content. Plus, the trends are early enough to give your videos a change at being seen.

Gone are the days when fame was a status symbol exclusive to movie stars, music icons, uniform-clad heroes, and popular TV hosts.

With TikTok trends, everyone is just a video away from worldwide fame. TikTok trends and challenges have the potential to turn everyday people into multimillion-dollar earning stars — from the consistent teenager who got famous by creating TikTok dance challenges to the hilarious champ who conquered the platform with videos about life hacks.

Even though the competition on the platform has gotten tougher, with over 1 billion monthly active users, hopping on TikTok trends and challenges can help people hear you above the noise.

Join us as we dive into our favorite TikTok challenges, along with a brief explanation of each trend.

7 Fun TikTok Challenges

Tik Tok challenges: woman taking a selfie

There are plenty of dangerous TikTok challenges that make the news, such as the Blackout challenge and the Benadryl challenge. But these fun challenges are safe, trending, and in line with TikTok’s community guidelines. We made this compilation based on early and emerging trends so your videos won’t get lost in the competition.

In no particular order, here are seven fun challenges to inspire your next video:

1. Taste the Biscuit + "Vacation Walk" Filter

At first look, this TikTok trend seems completely absurd, but some TikTok users have sworn the algorithm is obsessed with forwarding videos with the “Taste the Biscuit” song and its associated chrome-skinned woman effect to their for you page (FYP).

This TikTok challenge is simple. You only need the “Taste the Biscuit” song and the vacation walk filter. To use the song, click the “use the sound” button on the page, then search for the “Vacation walk” effect. The chrome woman in the effect does all the strutting, so you can focus on making your best model face for the camera.

Include the hashtags #tastethebiscuit and #chromewoman in your caption.

2. The Face Swap Challenge

The rise of this trend is one reason Instagram and TikTok will never be the same, no matter how many features they have in common.  While Instagram trends mostly focus on aesthetics, the face swap challenge is equal measure hideous and hilarious. It entails using the swap filter 10 times until the result is a pixelated fudge, unrecognizable from the original pic.

For this trend, cue your edits to match Beyoncé’s 10 to 1 count down on her “Countdown” song. The hashtag to use for this trend is #faceswap.

3. Good Knees Challenge

You might want to do a few squats before jumping on this TikTok challenge, or at least have a chiropractor on speed dial.

The good knees challenge will test both your resilience and twerking skills. The song gives you step-by-step instructions. But honestly, you’ll also need staying power and well-trained quadriceps muscles.

4. “And What After That?” Challenge

For this trending TikTok challenge, use text overlay to communicate a message you’re either impatient to hear more about, or a story so implausible or shocking that you can’t wait to hear the ending. It could be a scenario about a lying friend, or a how-I-met-your-mother kind of retelling with your partner.

In the main video content, react to the scenario you chose by either laughing or wearing a knowing look. You can also lip sync the words on cue.

5. Street Photography Challenge

This is a parody challenge. It takes the fashion of street photographers who find muses in passersby.

For this popular TikTok challenge, walk up to a friend – like you would walk up to a stranger if you were a street photographer. Ask if they speak English using any accent (we recommend a mock French accent), then ask to take photos of them.

Proceed to share the results of the encounter, a photo slide of zoomed, blurry, and obnoxious photos, all taken at the worst angles possible.

6. The Dodging Challenge

This challenge works best as a musical of dodging being hit or poked.

For this TikTok challenge, film a video of one person doing something offensive, like walking on a wet floor while your sibling mops up.

Then, cut to the clip showing a dance between you and the other person as you try to poke at them while swaying to the rhythm of the sped-up remix of Pogo’s “Forget.”

You can also just imitate a fruitless attempt of trying to get a friend to do something they don’t want to, like giving them their medicine.

7. “C’mon Man, That’s Too Easy” Challenge

This hilarious TikTok challenge shows parodies of life hacks.

Imagine the simplest, yet unfeasible, solutions to dire situations, then act them out using green screens and text overlays. A rocket heading toward the earth? Just redirect it back to space using a trampoline, or jump right on time to avoid its impact. Find yourself in the middle of a zombie apocalypse? No problem, just bite them and turn them into humans before they bite and turn you into a zombie. It’s too easy.

3 Top TikTok Challenges for Couples

1. Waist Dance Challenge

This trend is inspired by the young boy in this viral video who practices his salsa waist dance with this tutor.

So grab your best friend or partner, and with your best Shakira personation, sway your waist to the rhythm of this trending remix. Your partner should follow at a slower pace, pretending to fix your dance form (like the tutor in the viral TikTok video).

2. Mid-air Racing Challenge

For this TikTok challenge, one of you holds the other at the waist. The person in the air swings their legs in a running motion, while the other holds them against the full length of their body. Start off slow, and accelerate your “air running” as the song gets faster.

3. Take My Time Challenge

This viral challenge, which takes place to the tone of "Sensual Seduction" by Snoop Dogg, is for mischievous besties or couples. Show a progression from an initial decision, through the execution process, right down to the surprise result.

First, start with a decision with your bestie or partner. Then, flip between shots of yourself and your partner facing your Android or iPhone, going along with the decision. End with a plot twist of doing the entire opposite of what you set out to do.

For example, maybe you decided to go to the grocery store to buy food instead of eating out. We see you both hopping into the car to make it happen. But, in the last shot, you have a giant bucket of KFC chicken.
