The Tim Wells Band performed in major venues and festivals in the late nineties and 2000 and has recently resurfaced and metamorphosed into the Tim Wells Blues Band. PETER ENSLIN - Studying classical piano at Highbury Preparatory School and throughout his senior years at Kearsney College in Kwa-Zulu Natal, Peter then went on to complete, with honours, a 4 year diploma course in Light Music at the Natal Technikon, where he studied Jazz under the late George Hayden. Peter progressed to the world of Theatre as Musical Director for various shows for Napac and Johannesburg theatres, scoring, writing and training musicians and singers for the shows' productions. For many years, Peter worked as a cocktail pianist aboard cruise liners, during which time he developed a huge musical repertoire and became well acquainted with many cultures and customs as he cruised around the world. Peter's band "Touch of Class" specialises in performing for Corporate and Presidential / Government functions. Durban's Film and Theatre Critic, Billy Suter, described Peter as "Durban's most animated and vibrant pianist and musical director". Now Peter has at last realised his dream of owning his own recording studio, Andiamo Recording. NUX SCHWARTZ is a songwriter and guitarist whose pedigree stretches back to the mid 1980’s. Nux cut his teeth with SYD KITCHEN & THE UTENSILS and quickly came to grips with its groovy Afro/Reggae/Rock/Folk-a-delic music. Since then he has dedicated his time to not only mastering the guitar and to maturing as a songwriter, but has earned great respect as a recording engineer. He formed SCOOTERS UNION in 1996 and went on to record and produce “Vivid Memories of Static”. The album was nominated for two South African Music Awards and referred to as a “gem of an album” by SA Rock Digest contributor, Kurt Shoemaker. When local-legend Koos Kombuis was interviewed by Stephen Segerman in Gordon's Bay in February 1998 he referred to their album, which was playing when Segerman arrived, as “really fantastic.” Along with high-profile gigs including opening for Crowded House, the band collaborated with The Fantastic Flying Fish Dance Company for “unfinished(r)evolution” created by acclaimed choreographer David Gouldie. They were regulars at festivals including Splashy Fen, Oppikoppi and at Grahamstown’s National Festival of the Arts but were as at home in a dingy bar, of which they played plenty! He has also performed with such diverse acts as Blondie Chaplin (Beach Boys and Rolling Stones), Sipho Gumede and The Kalahari Surfers. Nux is back with a selection of songs that mark his return as a truly original South African songwriter and a remarkable musician of great emotional depth. Pre-production is currently in progress on an album provisionally-entitled “Burning Bush” which will feature a number of friends who’ve performed with him over the years, some South African legends – and some surprise contributions from international artists. JASON ANDREW VAN DER MERWE aka Jason Andrew From elite school choirs and bands at school level in Johannesburg to playing a variety of Brass instruments in the Salvation Army, Jason has played in a variety of bands and began his bass playing career with the band “Hard to Find”. “Nothing like a subterranean rumble to brighten one's day!” says Jason as he turns up his bass amp! Since moving to Durban, Jason has taken to the stage with the bands Rits, Dilligaf and the Tim Wells Blues Band. When he's not playing music, Jason is scanning channels for cheesy kung-fu movies, relaxing with loved ones and day dreaming about his next music appearance, possibly playing to a capacity crowd at Madison Square Gardens or Wembley! STEVE DU PLESSIS - Former drummer and backing vocalist in Scooters Union. Steve has drummed in various cover bands playing Punk, Rock, Blues and Jazz at Pubs and corporate gigs. In addition Steve has played in shows such as The Langoustines, Catalina, Barnyard and the Heritage Theatre. Drummer and backing vocalist in Gonzo Republic. And now playing the blues, because that’s why they call it the Blues.
